EDGE ATHLETICS

Both the 12u and 17u captured championship titles in last weeks Tom Dowd Memorial Tournament held at Monroe Woodbury High School.  Trophies were awarded to each team with championship t-shirst given to each athlete.

For the 12u, it marks the third time in as many weekends where they have gone undefeated.  After winning the championship in the Spring Hardwood Classic, the 12u went on to a 5-0 mark in our own Get an Edge competition.  They continued to roll this last weekend with wins on Friday against the BC Eagles and Saturday against the Rising Stars, sending them to them to the championship game Saturday afternoon against New Castle.  After trailing 16-3, the Edge defense kicked into high gear where they would go on a 26-9 run.  With this win, the 12u West improves to a perfect 12-0 record.

The 17u had similar success also capturing the tournament title with at 3-0 mark.  For a recap of the 17u weekend, please see Coach Kutchma’s “Coaches Corner.”

Congratulations to both teams on their achievements! The 17u will be back in action this weekend while the 12u West are off until the King of the Mountain at Siena College.  The 13u, 16u East, and 16u West are also in action this weekend.
